MICHAEL VALLES
Chief Executive Officer

Mike Valles has been designing LA’s premier modern and contemporary homes since 1999. His design company and product retail front, “Interior Illusions,” has grown to include two Southern California based location that all include full service product retailing, Interior Design and Home Staging services that are built around the aesthetic vision and tastes of Mr. Valles. He employs a staff of 20 to manage and project lead his designs for his clients.

Mike Valles has received much recognition in the design world for the projects he has executed. The National ART committee has awarded him with the Best in The West award, and his work has been featured in Luxe Magazine, California Home and Design Magazine, Luxe TV Designer Living, Apartment Therapy, Elle Décor, and many others. He has been chosen as a celebrity design expert to consult for various publications and TV shows. He has been the on-air personality as lead designer on Tori and Dean Inn Love for the Oxygen Network, and had made various guest appearances on Bravo’s Million Dollar Decorator, as well as, Jeff Lewis’ Flipping Out and Interior Therapy. He is regularly used as a quotable consultant for design for design driven content in major publications such as People Magazine, and US Weekly. His personal home is constantly being used for a destination for commercial shoots, fashion magazine spreads, Lifetime Movie: Ex-Wife Killer, and untitled Sci-Fi thriller.

Mr. Valles has established himself and his designs as one of the quintessential looks to consider when shopping for a designer both locally and nationwide with projects ranging from coast to coast. His firm, Interior Illusions, is known as the go-to business for all of Hollywood, from the set designers to the celebrities themselves, and Interior Illusions as a product outlet, is on every major network list of places to visit for set design. Interior Illusions’ staging services are known as the most sought-after for the million-dollar home market in Southern California, and boasts the highest retention rate for brokers and home developers as repeat customers. Mr. Valles as also developed his own product line of goods that are being featured in some of the highest circulated brand sale outlets for luxury home goods. (e.g. Gilt Groupe). Gilt Home currently has Mr. Valles featured as one of their “Style Stars.”

Commercially, he has designed for very high profile properties and hotels which include the likes of The Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills and their 16 million dollar penthouse unit, as well as the W Hotel Residences in Hollywood, and their premier spec unit built for prospective buyers. Not only designing in Los Angeles, My Valles has A-List clients all throughout the world ranging from Las Vegas to Abu Dahbi to Australia. Recently he has completed the Rumor Boutique Hotel situated across from the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. From moguls to athletes to celebrities, Mr. Valles is always a name that is referred for serious home and business owners looking for a distinct, sexy, and masculine look.

We are delighted to announce that Denise Medina is joining Interior Illusions as company controller . In her new role, Denise will be the future point of contact regarding vendor payments, inquiries, general questions and customer service.
 
Denise is a graduate of FIDM with a degree in Interior Design. She has over 10 years of practical experience merchandising retail showrooms and office administration.

Denise has an attention to detail that is unparalleled in the industry. We welcome her experience and look forward to a bright future.

SCOTT ALLEN
Senior VP/Creative Director - Showroom Manager - Palm Desert

Scott Allen, Interior Illusions Senior Designer, has received much acclaim and notoriety. He has a clean, contemporary interpretation of design with occasional, subtle nuances of bygone eras. Drawing from his holistic teachings, he designs on a truly personal level, listening and anticipating his clients’ needs. “As a designer, you are often a friend, a confidant and therapist”, he says with a smile. "It is my responsibility and my privilege as a designer to create an expression of who our clients are or want to evoke." 
 
Scott Allen has been in the Interior Illusions' family for 10 years with over 25 years experience as an interior designer in residential and commercial interiors, coast to coast with clients all over the US and Canada.  

Scott Allen received his education at the Atlanta School of Art for Interior Design and Business Management. He also studied Feng Shui, enhancing the natural flow and energy of a space. Scott Allen is continually expanding his knowledge with design trends curriculum to keep a fresh approach to his work and is often inspired by cultural influences from his or his client’s travels. He continues to seek out new and fresh furniture design attending the major furniture markets.

Early on, Scott left a large footprint on the Atlanta design scene with award-winning restaurants and speakeasies, collaborating with some of the top chefs in town. Scott Allen has been a consulting designer for several local and regional design magazines. In his past, he curated a luxury line of home accessories and textiles. 

In his present chapter of his career as Senior Designer at the Interior Illusions' 'Design Studio', he has been part of many collaborative teams of LA's top home builders and architects, winning countless design awards for new home construction and has cultivated an ever-growing celebrity client list. 

JUSTIN GREEN
Director of Staging Design Installations

Justin Green, is an inspiring Interior Designer, grew up in a small town of Culpeper, Virginia where he attended undergrad at Germanna College. He realized he did not want to pursue the country lifestyle and knew from a young age that the place for him to be was the beautiful city of Los Angeles, California. So he took the journey out west at a young age to pursue his passion in life.

Having worked in entertainment in the past and new to the interior design business, Justin has a very personable personality with a sweet southern charm to offer. He will go out of his way to make a client happy from start to end. With his creativeness, Justin has a style that is sexy, warm, sophisticated and most importantly, inviting.

Justin, feels incredibly fortunate to be a part of the Interior Illusions team where he looks to challenge himself, combine his talents and abilities and share them with the Interior Illusions family.

PAUL OTIS
Director of Retail

Paul Otis comes to Interior Illusions with 15 years of luxury retail management experience with brands like Tiffany & CO, Coach, and Michael Kors. At T&CO Paul was responsible for and oversaw the operation of 3 retail locations, 50 employees, and over 30 million dollars worth of business. Paul has extensive experience in business management, people development, sales growth, sales strategy, and customer experience.
 
Pauls love of interior design started at an early age when his parents took him on trips overseas. Paul fell in love with the architecture, design, and culture he discovered in the countries he visited. Specifically, he fell in love with hotels. When he visited these hotels he was in awe of the interior architecture and opulent design of the spaces he visited. He knew then he wanted to design and run his own hotel chain. 

Originally from Chicago, Paul went to school at the University of Illinois, Chicago where he first studied architecture but switched his major to business management so he could learn how to run a hotel business. Later in life Paul decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue his passion of interior design. Paul worked for several designers and furniture companys to gain experience in the design field. Paul worked for the famed interior designer Kelly Wearstler for over 3 years. There he had hands on expereince on large design projects and learned the ropes from Kelly herself. Pauls design is driven by a deep passion to articulate a unique story and formidable point of view. From interior design to brand identity, Paul builds a singular, synchronized experience built on an vision of design.   
Paul joins Interior Illusions as the Director of Retail overseeing all showroom locations. He is well positioned to help drive growth for the Interior Illusions brand into the future. 

AMY SMITH
Showroom Manager - Palm Springs

Amy brings to interior illusions over twenty years’ experience in marketing, project management, wholesale, purchasing and consultative design experience. Amy has the ability to develop creative, clear and functional solutions for designated interior spaces, and the most cost-effective solution based on resources. 

Amy has the ability to coordinate large, complex projects and manage multiple design projects.

KATHY MATULICH
Sales & Design Consultant - Palm Desert

Kathy’s thirty years in the fashion industry has given her an appreciation for beauty and design. Her background as a designer’s representative and owning her own home décor store has enabled her to craft a style that is unique and characterized by lush layers and textures from furniture to accessories.

Kathy has a passion for creating a positive and exciting environment for her clients. There’s a warmth and respect for different forms of design, from mid century modern to contemporary. Kathy can identify an individual’s style and help them hone in their design goals to create a cohesive home space.

BRUCE RISE
Sales Consultant - Outlet

Bruce created, owned, and operated Trousdale's Timeless Modern, a vintage home furnishings shop in Palm Springs’ Uptown Design District. From there he developed a loyal list of clients looking for what has become known as "that Trousdale's look," one that evokes a range of eras influencing our collective
style-consciousness — 1950s innovation, '60s glamour, '70s sexiness...maybe even a toe-dip into the '80s — all layered for a look that's fresh, collected and of the moment. Joining the vibrant creative team at Interior Illusions, Bruce has access to a broad spectrum of stunning contemporary resources - many rooted in the principles of classic modern design - so will continue working with clients to create spaces that give the “illusion” of being collected over time, and absolutely reflect the individuality of each and every client he has the pleasure of working with.

ANA SOFIA HOPE
Design Assistant

Ana Sofia H McPhee is originally from Monterrey, Mexico, where she got her bachelor’s degree in Architecture in 2015 from Universidad Regiomontana. She has 10+ years of experience working in the field of design and construction in both Mexico and the US. Before finding her passion in interior design, she worked in architecture and landscape studios. After working as a Junior Project Manager for a Mexico-based international company, she discovered her passion for interior design. Fast forward two years, Ana ventured into the field, accepting a position as an Interior Designer at a boutique design firm in her hometown. Here, Ana Sofia found her calling, thriving in the design field. She worked closely with American and International brands, teaming up with numerous architects and designers on many projects in Orlando, FL in the US, and Mexico City, Monterrey, and Coahuila, in Mexico.

After moving to the US in 2020, she has collaborated with several architects and designers in the DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia areas. Here, she had the opportunity to really fine tune her craft with the influences of great artists in Southeast DC to create and design commercial and religious spaces. In 2022, she moved to the Coachella Valley in CA and, after working as an independent designer, she joined the team at Interior Illusions and has been an invaluable asset to the company and the design firm.

ANTHONY KHAN
Director of Plus

Anthony Khan has joined Interior Illusions as a lead consultant in e-commerce and new product development for Interior Illusions showrooms and national markets. With over 10 years experience in retail, product sales, and interior design, Anthony is a welcome addition to the Interior Illusions family.

Prior to joining Interior Illusions, Anthony worked in multiple high profile showrooms catering to interior designers and architects. Anthony’s extensive knowledge of the interior design industry has afforded him the knowledge necessary to translate his vision over the internet and beyond. Known in the industry for producing explosive results, Anthony is passionate and aggressive to make sure the customer is getting the best value. “Within 6 months Anthony has created a stream of revenue for Interior Illusions that didn’t exist prior. We are excited to have him be a part of the team,” says Michael Valles.

“E-Commerce is here to stay”Anthony is going to take a decade’s experience and strengthen Interior Illusions online presence and increase revenue. Anthony is also going to be heading our first Interior Illusions product line to be distributed internationally

Jessica brings over twenty years’ experience in marketing. Her expertise in advertising and design led her to expand into the digital space, creating social media engagement and digital marketing campaigns. Jessica manages our website and social media accounts.

Jay joins us with over 8 years of shipping and warehouse management experience. Jay has a can do attitude and is instrumental in making sure our warehouse functions properly. Jay is a reliable and go to person in the warehouse. Prior to joining interior illusions Jay worked at American Apparel in warehousing and distribution.

 RUSSELL PRITCHARD
Sales Consultant - Outlet

Russell has spent the past 35 plus years in retail and interior design, working first in New York City for 10 years doing set design and propping for direct mail marketing. Next he moved to San Francisco where he owned Zonal Home Interiors, with 6 locations in the Bay Area, spanning 25 years. During his time in San Francisco, he co-founded The Hayes Valley Art Coalition, which sponsored numerous art installations in a city park in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. After selling the business in 2015 , he moved to Palm Springs where he managed two locations for Desert Patio, doing sales and patio designs.  In 2017 Russell was appointed to The Palm Springs Public Arts Commission where he served as both vice chair and chair for his six year term on the commission, where he commissioned about 25 various art installations and projects.
We are very happy to have Russell join our team at Interior Illusions, working part time at our Outlet store.

Clara is the Administrative Assistant at Interior Illusions. She is very interested in the furniture industry and excels at the operational aspects of running our business. Her interest in the creative process and understanding of the different functions of a business made her interested in working at Interior Illusions.  

Clara is a recent graduate with a degree in Global Supply Chain Management from Cal State Northridge. She has previous experience at the production company, Bill Ferrell Co, as both an office assistant and a manufacturing supervisor. In this role she was responsible for the training and overlooking of the production of confetti for events such as New Years Eve in Time Square, as well as administrative work in the operations and financial department.

 RYAN HORVATH
Sales & Design Consultant - Exterior Illusions

Ryan Wm. Horvath is new to the desert but not new to representing various luxury products. Originally from Pennsylvania, he has over 17 years consultative design experience from interior home furnishings to wholesale luxury plumbing products to outdoor furnishings. He was first introduced to interior design while working at Thomasville were he ended up managing the showroom and continued in this field for many years. His high energy may come from the many years of dance lessons and his organizational skills he attributes to being in the army.
 
Ryan is excited to be part of the Exterior Illusions team and looks forward to helping customers turn their vision into reality.

 EVERETT BUMALOUGH

Everett Bumbalough is a seasoned real estate and Luxury Home Staging Design expert with over 15 years of experience in the industry. Hailing from California, he started his career in real estate working in new home and multifamily development before transitioning into furniture and design.

After several years of hands-on experience in multi market sales management with companies such as CORT, the world's largest provider of Rental Furniture, Everett transitioned into leading sales and design teams at one of the nation's largest Luxury Home Staging companies. Specializing in residential and commercial projects, He quickly built a reputation for his impeccable taste, attention to detail, ability to lead and manage leading sales and design teams. 

Throughout his career, Everett has worked with a diverse range of clients, from high profile celebrities to everyday homeowners looking to transform their space. His ability to listen carefully to his clients' needs, understand their personal style, and create designs that are both functional and beautiful has earned him a loyal following of happy clients.

 ANDY RODRIGUEZ
Design & Staging Manager - West Hollywood

Andy Rodriguez brings with him over 15 years of Interior Design and Sales experience to Interior Illusions, with an education from California State University, Sacramento and The Interior Design Institute of San Francisco.
Andy’s passion has always been the opportunity to provide positive client experiences while making life changes to their environments through Interior Design. 
The spark for design started when he moved for college and was able to design his first living space and learned that high end style on a student budget could be achieved by mixing in timeless investment pieces with thrift store treasures.  
His love for Christmas catapulted him to start his own Interior Design and Holiday Staging firm, Andel & Co. which would later result in him becoming a holiday stylist contributor to morning show, Good Day Sacramento. This endeavor opened the doors to designing several high profile Northern California homes, such as the Governor’s Mansion. 
Rooting himself within the design sphere, he has been an Interior Design collaborator with American brands like La-Z-Boy and a design consultant for San Francisco tech startup, Modsy, an interior design app specializing in virtual and augmented reality.
He then became the Director of Sales and Design for OnStage Inc, a high end luxury design and staging firm serving listings in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. With his leadership, he was able to assist over 150 design projects and help sell over $500 million in real estate. 
Currently, Andy is the Design and Staging Manager at Interior Illusions. He considers himself very fortunate to have such a hybrid position with the company, “being a part of such an iconic design staple in West Hollywood and its ambitious group of creators has me excited to showcase all my talents within the company and its roster of impressive clients”
